generative neural network

To create this algorithm they relied on what they have called partially generative neural network, which allows automatic learning and reach conclusions with less information than would normally be necessary. When a crime is committed, the system is set in four specific details: the main weapon used, the number of suspects that were at the scene of the crime, the neighborhood in which it took place and the exact place within it (already be, for example, an alley or a corner).

To train their algorithm, the researchers used a large volume of data from the Los Angeles Police Department from 50,000 aggravated assaults, robberies and homicides committed from 2014 to 2016 and related to gangs and not linked to them. Then they put him to the test using another group of data from the Angelina Police.
